Lapua Long Range .22 LR 40gr Ammunition
Lapua Long Range .22 LR Ammunition is a premium rimfire cartridge developed specifically for precision shooting at 100 metres and beyond. Designed for demanding disciplines such as Long Range Rimfire, PRS, NRL22, rimfire benchrest and Field Target, it combines excellent consistency with increased velocity for predictable downrange performance.
Each cartridge is loaded with a 40-grain / 2.59g projectile and manufactured using Lapua’s precision rimfire production process. Lapua lists a muzzle velocity of approximately 1,106 fps / 337 m/s, giving the cartridge a relatively flat trajectory and improved wind performance for extended-range .22 LR shooting.
Muzzle energy is approximately 108 ft-lb / 147 joules, while Lapua lists a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.172 for its .22 LR rimfire bullets. Current ballistic data shows approximately 954 fps / 291 m/s at 100 metres and 830 fps / 253 m/s at 200 metres, demonstrating the cartridge’s ability to retain useful velocity at extended rimfire distances.
Lapua Long Range is an excellent choice for serious rimfire shooters looking for premium ammunition engineered specifically for consistent long-distance performance.
